Why visit Skåne?
Visiting the region of Skåne rewards you with some of the best experiences in Sweden. This southern most region is home to dramatic coastlines, medieval towns, sandy beaches, national parks, castles and some of the country's most beautiful countryside.
What makes Skåne special is its variety. In a single day, you can visit a historic castle by bike, hike through ancient forests, explore a seaside village and enjoy locally produced food at a farm café. The region is also incredibly easy to explore thanks to its excellent transit network, making it perfect for day trips and slow travel adventures.
For me, Skåne is where Scandinavia truly shines. It's a region full of hidden gems, local stories and truly unforgettable landscapes that deserve far more attention than they usually receive.

🏰 Castles - Skåne's history is written across its landscape. From grand castles and medieval fortresses to manor houses and viking ruins, the region offers some of the most impressive historic sites in Sweden that span centuries.
🌊 Beaches - With hundreds of kilometres of coastline, Skåne is full of sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, charming fishing villages all with scenic walking trails. Every stretch of coast has its own character and vibe.

Excellent train connections make it simple to discover the medieval towns, seaside villages, castles and national parks without needing a car. Pick a homebase somewhere along the train line and you are no more than 2 hours away from anywhere within this amazing region.
